ohhh...it´s a sign of respect...also one way of saying that he enjoyed being with you and he wants to be with you again.

It means that he isn't a proper gentleman, but a fraud. Despite what the movies depict, in the times of olde the gentleman would bring the hand close to his lips, but he never kissed it. He would do it with his eyes down or closed with a woman he respected but wasn't romantically linked to, and with his eyes looking into hers if they were lovers. This man you were with was playing you with false chivalry.

First of all, one kisses the hand in only two social situations:

1. If you already know the lady, and she offers her hand, or

2. If you are being introduced to her, and she offers her hand.

When saying farewell, one may kiss the hand -if it is offered-. If the lady offers her cheek, kiss it gently and with - dry- lips.

In different parts of the world, it is the same as a goodnight kiss,a sign of respect, an action that shows he had a good time but is not ready for the ole peck on the lips. Good luck to you.

Why are you asking this for the 3rd time in the same day with in 10 hours of each other? I dont even need to answer this for you, because enough other people have given respectable and good answers. I hate people that repeat themselves.
