I have an Advent 7081, i have 256mb ram, i want more. I can't find any sites selling ram for my model, any help please???

400 is backwards compatible with 333. Make sure it is DDR (184pin) and not DDR2 (200pin).
Hve you tried running Everest to verify what RAM you have installed?

go to this site, enter you make and model to discover the exact specs of the memory for that computer.

while this site is in the US, and you may want to buy in the UK, you'll get the information to know you've made the right decision. On the other hand, if you can't find it in the UK, I'm sure someone here would like to sell it to you...

I hope you or a friend knows of a local computer fair. I had your problem P.C. World wanted £79 for 128mb PC100 my mate got me 256mb for £40 from a fair.

when the ram type gets outdated, it means ur computer is outdated too. I'm sure u can still find parts, but it's about time to think about getting a new computer when the parts are not readily available at ur local computer store.
