Definitely. There are a number of free online scanners. I recommend using Trend Micro's Housecall. Housecall will scan for both viruses and spyware. Unlike other online scanners, Housecall will both scan and remove all suspicious files. Most online scanners will scan for suspicious files but you have to pay to have them removed. The website address is: http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

Another good online scanner is Bitdefender. However, Bitdefender will only scan for and remove viruses. Bitdefender will not scan for spyware. Their web address is: http://www.bitdefender.com/scan8/ie.html

I have always used housecall, believe you can get to it at www.housecall.trendmicro.com. I even used it at work because we were having a problem with our network, although I did not have any infected files, our so-called I.T. expert had over 3,000 and it cleaned them all up. It is easy to use and does work. Give it a try.

There are in basic terms web content to test your gadget. they're going to tell u that u have an endemic then attempt to sell u some thing or provide u a unfastened 30 day trial of a few thing. do no longer fall for it. Get an endemic protection application.

Take a look at housecall -- http://housecall.antivirus.com

Also, for a free (good) virus scanner (non-web based), look at Avast HOME -- http://www.avast.com
