If by crazy, you mean that you will be unable to think in a logical manner that will aid you in daily life, then absolutely not. Focusing too intensely on a single thought and having that rule your entire existence is another thing. But if you mean just sitting down in a quiet place, reading a book, and then thinking about the contents for a half-hour after you're done and doing some research, then I'd say that this sort of thing on a regular basis makes you the exact opposite of crazy. It makes you rational, knowledgeable, and more sensitive to the true nature of things around you.
If by crazy, you mean that you will be abnormal by the general standard set by society, then this is true. If you go into a football and try to talk to people who aren't "crazy" about the Mahamudra, you might get hurt. : ) You will be very wise, but very bruised.

enjoyable? if its too much then maybe. Otherwise, it's the same. People in normal mental state and those who are 'abnormal' are separated only by a thin hair line according to psychology studies.

Anyone who has ever watched MTV will know that the world is desperately short of people who can think. There's nothing wrong with it, and please continue to do it. Publish what you come up with and make a million dollars!
