I'm 6'6" and I'm totally approachable.

Simply put, people are less approachable when you fear them more. Now, I'm not necessarily talking about a tall man squashing you under his size 16 boot, but I'm saying often times people are more intimidated by those they perceive are of a higher social status. Its why people cringe at celebrities, or fumble for words when talking to the President. In this society, its preferable to be taller, rather than shorter, so you may be slightly more intimidated by them just as you would be if they were extremely good-looking or looked very wealthy.

What are you talking about? I could approach a tall person just as easily as I could a short person. Although I have to admit I do feel just a little intimidated when standing next to someone taller than me. But at about 6,1 I don't really run into too many of those. So I don't really think about it as much and try not to let it get to me.

I dont find that to be true---although it may be because of the fact that tall people are more intimidating because of their height.
And also it is a little harder to look tall people in the eyes when you talk to them (if you are not tall yourself)

I don't know but I'm female and 6 foot and I seem to be even more unapproachable then men that are tall...it's intimidation even though there is really no need for it.

Well, when someone approaches a shorter person (á la moi!) don't you think it's intimidating for them because all of a sudden, there's a giant towards for them?! lol

im jus over 5 feet an im considered short. i guess its cuz tall ppl r kinda scary a u hav 2 shout up 2 them.
ppl approach me cuz dey r not afraid that i can physically hurt them. an they tink dey can do me any kinda freindly wickedness lol
