There is a person here harassing me saying I am a racist when in the real life I am not? What can I do?

There are certain comment that I have made here criticizing Americans for certain reasons, but that doesn't mean I am a racist, because the reality is that I appreciate Americans but there are a couple of things that they have said that have offended me. I also feel that I have the freedom to express my self and say what I feel if others do to.

But there is a person in particular who has been harassing me sending me insulting messages, saying that I am a racist when he realy seems to be the true racist.

What can I do to stop being disrespected by him?

all you can do is keep reporting him I read your questions, and it doesn't appear to me like you are racist just that you have some questions and some things you want to know about different cultures and races, nothing wrong with that that is perfectly normal, also you just don't even have to open this persons e-mails, just delete them right away

We in America (and, evidently, Puerto Rico) have become so afraid of being called racists, we no longer even realize what the word "racist" means.

First of all, you need to know what a racist is. A racist is a person who loves their own race above all others. Often, they believe their race is the "best" race. This would describe a great many people! Of just about any race!

Second, "America" is a country. Not a race.

Third, "American" is a nationality. Not a race.

A person who loves his or her own country more than other countries is called a "nationalist".

So, here's the answer to your question of what can you do to keep someone from harrassing you and saying you're a racist:

Quit asking questions, like, "I'm from Puerto Rico. Are you Americans going to embrace me with open arms?"
Quit criticizing "American" food.
Quit being so offended by "a couple of things that they have said".

We Americans realize that our country is not perfect. However, we WILL defend our country's reputation when someone else insults it. As a Puerto Rican, wouldn't you do the same?

IF the "asker" was being honest, and if you READ her past statements and answers to other people's questions, you'll see what a racist pig this "asker" is. She is trying to get people to join her pity party because I called her on her prejudice and racism. If you don't believe me, see for yourself.

Level 4 Why Americans eat so much crap for dinner and they don't have a official dish?
I once asked "What food do you eat almost everyday?" and they posted a bunch of crap that isn't real food.

Hating America is worse than hating any race. They're both the same thing. Shallow judgements made based on incorrect or limited information. I would suggest that a racist actually talk to someone of a different race and the same thing can be applied here; you should actually go to America before you pass any sort of judgement on it.

Okay, if you're an American citizen, you have the right to say what you want. If you're not, well then, our rights don't apply to you.

However, people arevery quick these days to scream racism when you say the SLIGHTEST derogatory thing about someone of a particular race. If you stereotype, you will be labeled as a racist.

It's happened to me, too, when I complained about illegal immigrants.

Don't worry about that person, though. It's only one person, and if you're not racist in real life, then don't worry about it.

I haven't read your messages before and don't know why he decided to harrass you. I also don't know how to get him to stop, but I can suggest how to avoid attracting that kind of attention in the future.

There are many aspects of American culture and figures in American society that are worthy of criticizm. Perhaps, though, when criticizing someone, it would be best to be as specific as possible about whom you are criticizing ( I, for one, would not take kindly to being called a warmongerer, as I am adamently opposed to the US economic-military complex).

On another note, America is one of the most culturally diverse nations on the planet, so for someone to call you racist for criticizing a nation is a bit off-base. (Your aggressor may be using you to vent).

i would complain about him to yahoo. is there some way that you can block him? some people take this stuff too serious. tell him that if he doesn't stop you can file a complaint against him. harassment is against the law.
