I took him to thee ER tonight & the dr there said it was normal..but I feel that it is not, they r really swollen & I can feel the teeth right under the skin, but, he will not let me touch them. No, he does not sleep wit a bottle, and he doesnt chew on anything else for that matter.

Absolutely not. Get him to the dentist as soon as possible. If you can't afford to go to the dentist get him to the health department, Dr or something like that...free medical clinic of some sort. Something is definitely wrong.

NO! Go see a doctor or dentist! Does he sleep with a bottle? Sounds like bottle mouth to me.

You know what, honestly when I think about it. They arent in yet, if they were thru and black that is decay.
But when they are under the skin still, and I think you said they are. It does look kind of black under there.
It didnt with all my daughters teeth, just some in the front too. I dunno why that is, but it did happen to me that way too.

YES RELAX.. My little ones gums were black where his first molar was comming in.. his was a bruise. as the tooth pushes through, it is bruising the gums.
As long as your child doesnt bleed real easily, and it is hard to stop.. or bruise really easy, he should be fine..
I freaked out when I saw the black gums too. they will rupture, too.. and you may find a little spitty blood on his bedding.. dont worry!

No, this isn't normal. It happened to my step-father's sister's little boy. This was 10 years or so ago, so I don't remember the reasoning for it, but they all came in rotten and had to be pulled.

that happened to my sister all her baby teeth came in black, when she was born the cord was rapped around her neck so in her case it was a lack of oxygen. Her adult teeth came in fine
