have you ever spent time with a woman after she has had an abortion? I have spent time with some very good friends of mine, this is what those 4 individual women felt.

They felt sick, horrified, and completely useless. They greived, were angry at themselves for getting into a situation that ultimately resulted in abortion. They cried, and wept, and screamed. They lay emotionally exhausted on their beds or couches while friends helped them through a very very difficult time with compassion and empathy. They judged themselves harshly. In the end they felt sadness and regret.

If you are a christian do you think that by shouting scripture at a woman as she goes into or out of an abortion clinic will really change their minds? Is it your perception that women have abortions simply for the fun of it, do you think they go out and celebrate afterwards? What makes your behavior acceptable?

I am Christian; I am against abortion. However, I have never stood outside an abortion clinic shouting scripture nor will I ever. Is it your perception that there are a lot of Christians who do this? There are not. It is not the way to stop abortions; it is rude and offensive and judgemental. Education about responsible sexual behavior, morality, and good parenting (and setting a good example for your children) may reduce the traffic entering abortion clinics but since the free love of the hippie generation, too many parents don't set a good example or insist on high morals for either themselves or their children.

I have personally seen babies saved outside abortion mills on the very day that their deaths were scheduled, thanks to the presence of Christians offering information and help. If you think that the people selling abortions are going to provide unbiased information, you are sorely mistaken. I have seen abortion mills refuse to refund women's deposits when they changed their minds, while pro-lifers got out their wallets and checkbooks and freely offered financial assistance. I have seen women directed to places where they could receive free financial, medical, and legal aid, free maternity and baby supplies, emotional support and counseling, pregnancy, parenting, and adoption information, and anything else they might need.

The Christians helping women outside the abortion mills are not paid for their work. They go there because they care about the women and they care about the babies. Yes, they may share Scripture. Many (not all) women entering abortion mills do care what the Scripture says about their actions.

If you saw a woman carrying an infant into a building where you knew the little girl would be torn limb from limb, would you remain silent because her mind was "already made up?" Would you think, "Well, I know it was a difficult decision for her to come here. I won't make it harder for her to kill her child. After all, it's her choice, and the last thing I want to do is hurt her feelings." Of course not. You would do whatever you could to save the baby and save the mother from lifelong pain and regret. It is wrong to remain silent when injustice is occurring.

I don't do what you described...."....shouting scripture at a woman......".....but I think you just proved my point. If most women go through that, then why do that? I understand if the baby or mother is in danger how you consider abortion, but otherwise why not give it to one of the millions of couples who want children terribly but are unable to....
