With in the last year it seems to me there was a natural event that took place. I think a sink hole that sucked up a lake and community around it. Can anyone clairify this for me?

I read that a sink hole opened and sucked in a house or at least part of a house. I don't know about a lake and town. Sorry.

That was Katrina and the low lying areas.( the city was built in a n area below sea level. ) in new orleans.
