I'm a center at my school too but to be a contribution to the team you have to run the floor like a guard so you can get some easy lay-ups oh and also get really good at free throws i can guarantee you will get fouled in every game also get good at three's even if you don't get many opportunities for three's it may come in handy because no one expects a center to shoot threes so at first they wont even guard you out there so that's almost always an easy three

Since your a center i'm assuming you must be tall. So you need to focus on your lay ups since you'll be near the goal the majority of the time. Try to do them with both your left hand and right hand. If you can have a friend defending you that will help you in alot. Practise your free throws because we all know that free throws can win games. Finally always practise your jump shot from all angles of the court. Never be afraid to play against someone who is better then you. Because this will only improve you in the near future as a player.

Physically, I think there are enough answer that you can follow through. I just need to add that a valuable center is someone who can read the court. so try to improve your court vision by watching scrimmages.
Work on your post moves with Sikma, McHale, and Dr. J's post move. Practice the reverse layup and jump stops.
But the best center is the one who never forget to box out the opponent, and never, ever get pushed under the basket.

Work on post moves, ie: drop steps, hooks, up and under, spin, bully move, maybe a little jumper out to 10-15 feet. Work on footwork and being stong around the hoop. Work on your leg strength, staying low and getting good position is key. don't shoot three pointers-that is what guards are for. You shoot a three in a game and your *** is gonna be on the pine.

You gotta act like a Center. Remember, it takes five people on the floor to keep the game going.

if you are a big guy. work on you outside shot. this will bring the opposing center out of the paint and open the floor for others. or you can pump fake, go by him and dunk on his sorry butt.
