Absolutely. That is when we are most idealistic. And when we know that we are in love. I don't know why people wait so long now. They end up in one relationship after another. Having children is put off till late 20's and 30's . Young and idealistic is better , especially if you are really in love.
Blessings

I would rather wait. I think the couple should experience college or the workforce and give it some time. Then if they still feel the same after a few years, then they should get married. I think when highschool sweethearts marry right after highschool, they are more likely to get divorced. They might feel that they are missing something and didn't get to live the single life. They will always wonder what else is out there. I have known 3 couples who married right after highschool and they all got divorced within 5 years.

My wife and I married right out of High school. That was in 1962. We have grown together and have a lot in common. Our first born was 2 years later, and then the second was 7 years after we married. We still had lots of fun with people our age, and in fact stay in touch with many of them. But, I would still not recommend it for most young couples. Marriage is a lifetime commitment, and that's the only way to go into marriage. There's a great big world out there and lots of people to see and places to go. Good luck

Been there, done that...now divorced.
More times than not, you grow apart from each other. You are still doing a bit of growing up & maturing at that age. Your common interests change.
I was part of a group of people that were high school sweethearts who then married. We used to get together to drink, play cards, watch videos, etc. We even had babies at about the same time too.
All six couples are now divorced and on their second or third spouse.

I think it depends on you. I got married to my high school sweetheart. we are still married after 12 years and 4 kids. we love each other very much. You have to be able to take the good with the bad. IF you really love each other it will work.

I would wait. My fiancee married his high school sweetheart at 22, and got divorced at 27. You change quite a bit between high school and age 25. Be patient, if your love is true, and strong, it will be worth the wait, and be there when you are ready. You have the rest of your lives ahead of you, don't rush into anything.

Yeah --I know of people (like my parents) who have been married a long time and they got married right out of school. Just pursue your career dreams as a married person! By the way, my parents have been married 40 years!! Good luck to you!

Why should it be okay? You're both 17 with zero life experience and, even worse, zero work/professional experience.

Enjoy those early years first, worry about marriage later.
