Hezbollah will never be for peace as long as the country of Israel exists. And you are right, they are ruthless. They want to kill Jews and Americans....anyway they can.

For the love of God, Mary M, listen to what hmmmm and longroad are telling you or at least consider the possibility that there is some truth to the other side. In the meantime I pray that the ceasefire that is scheduled to take place in the morning will not only bring an immediate end to the killing on both sides but that there might eventually be a more lasting peace. I am no Pollyanna, but I can hope, I am just sick and tired of the insult trading and the intolerance on both sides.

Thats a good question. Hezbollah has two wings, one political the other miltia. In the beginning they were very strict Moslems, in Lebanon they have become more tolerate working with Christians and Sunnis . It's Hezbollah, that has built hospitals for affordable health care and active in other social projects. They have the support of the Shias, and have patrolled the border since the Israelis withdrawal so they have served as Lebanon first line of defense against Israeli invasion. Regardless of what USA thinks of them, they have a great deal of support of the Lebanese.

No, the Israeli government is behaving disgracefully isn't it. Completely ruthless. They have lost the support of the Israeli people. They must stop the indiscriminate slaughter ASAP.
While the intransigence continues there can be no peace. This applies to all sides. But the US must stop facilitating the violence by providing Israel with arms, this can only destabilize the situation more and more.
