no matter what you do it is going to take another night sleep for it to recover just be sure not to use any pillows tonight and don't elevate it and it should be ok in the morning. I have gotten the same kink and it has always been when I slept on a pillow or something that put my head elevated a little. The slightest neck strain can ruin you for the whole day. Hope you feel better!

Alright Katie, listen up. First you need to find yourself a hot/cool patch, the one that Shaq advertises on TV. Be prudent about the directions because you don't want to place it wrong and have the undesired effects. Place it correctly on the bridge or the nook of your neck, depending on where the pain is you can adjust the patch. It's a fairly big patch so it should cover the general area nicely. Make sure you do not turn your neck abruptly or do anything physical. If this doesn't help, consult your physician.

I'm not sure it's exercises you need. In fact, depending on the cause of your neck pain, this could make it worse. You need to find a good spinal surgeon to do an MRI and see what you need. I had two neck surgeries which were a walk in the park but they made the world of difference for me. Just in case you are within a reasonable distance of Nashville, Tennessee, I would recommend my surgeon, Dr. Thomas J. O'Brien at Southern Hills Hospital. He is the best!!

u probably have spasm in your neck
1- warm compress can help
2-avoid air conditioner or any similar stuff
3-u can use some anti spasmodics drug of choice is beclofen i am not sure if it is over the counter.the other thing that u can use is diazepam or any other similar drugs like temazepam,midazolam,.. they all have same effect but these drugs also have sedative effect and can make u sleepy so if u r using it no driving and no alcohol.they can interfere with OCP .so if u r using OCP u may become pregnant use another methof like barrier methods(condoms,..)
4-dont try to move it if it is stiff, give it a rest and dont forget hot showers, hot tubs and steam rooms
5- good luck tomorrow night, wish u the best

try either or both ... message it then put a hot maybe hot water bottle on it or try getting a wash cloth and then wet it with really hot water then put that into a plastic baggy and put that on ur neck that should help the pain go away.

Go to the drugstore and get an over-the-counter muscle relaxant, such as Robaxacet or Robaxisal. They help a lot.
