My husband recently began thinking about getting circumcised. Oddly enough i've never been with a circumcised man and didn't really know how to respond when he told me he was thinking about having it done? How will lovemaking feel different? Has anyone been in a similar situation? Well any answers/advice would help really.

I'm a man, but I've done research, and I'll tell you what I know.

He himself is going to lose a LOT of sensation. The foreskin has the highest concentration of nerve endings, and not only that, but the removal will cause the thickening of skin (it will get irritated by rubbing on clothes) further decreasing sensation.

Not only that, but lubrication will become much more of a factor. Without the extra skin to move, you'll pretty much be required to use some sort of lube.

Another thing that will get removed is what is called a "rigid band" of tissue, that is to keep the foreskin forward, but during sex it basically has the effect of making it feel like he's wearing a ribbed condom, so you'll miss out on that.

Bottom line, unless there's a serious medical problem and the circumcision HAS to be done, he shouldn't. There's absolutely no need to.

My husband is not circumcised and use to talk about doing it as well. I kinda talked him out of it since I felt any unneccesary surgery is not a good idea. Find out why he wants it, is it for health reasons (he keeps getting infections) or is it a personal one where he always felt different from other guys? My husband really did make the choice on his own though when he realized it was for the wrong reason. As far as feeling different there is no difference.

Good Luck :-)

If he's self conscious about his foreskin then let him have it done. The more confident he is with his body, the better your sex life will be. I've never been with a circumcised man because I live in Ireland and here it's practically unheard off, but I hear it makes for better sex. Good luck!

If your husband isn't having any problems with his foreskin being there please try to talk him OUT OF being circumcised. I've been with both circumcised and uncircumcised me, the uncircumcised men are much better, there is extra there for extra pleasure. There is no reason for a man to be circumcised, in fact, I didn't have my sons cut.

Tell him not to do it, when the doctors circumsize babies its wrong because its not there choice, it takes away 40% of the nerves. A baby wouldnt notice that as he gets older because he cant compare, as for your hubby he can. Sex is much better with an uncircum. Because it hits the clit more, as for a circum. he needs to go deep more to stimulate you. I have had sex with uncirc. and circum. With the boyfriend that was circum, i couldnt finish in bed, and if i were to finish i would have to be on top and it would take me 45 min.
My boyfriend now is uncircum. And let me tell you i finsih in bed , him on top me and top almost 90% of the time

Doing this as an adult is EXTREMELY painful and can have adverse actions after having it done. Make sure he talks to a doctor extensively before he has this done.

the risk of infection is not as high with a circumsized man. All the power to him!
