As the person above said, go get some Avery labels, then go to Avery.com. They literally walk you through the entire printing thing. You can make your labels right on the website and print them. All you do is enter the product number of the labels you bought and they come up wth different templates. After you have typed what you want to say the site lets you change fonts, colors and graphics. Check it out. It is super easy.

Easy breezy
Go to WalMart or the toy store and get a set of alphabet rubber stamps and maybe some stamps that relate to the party theme.
Stamp whatever you need on paper ribbon or paper strips and double sided tape sticks the labels around your favors or like napkin rings. The more uneven the juvenile letters look, the cuter they are, then you don't have to sweat not being a professional label maker.
also. Microsoft Word open a document and click on Word art and pick a style, like rainbow block print in a large font. Type what you need and print, cut in strips and tape in a ring around the favor.
Word perfect has color , fun fonts too!

I would go to your local craft store, look around for ideas and, depending on how many favors you need and how much time you have, make them by hand. You can use stencil letters and just paint the letters one at a time, or use stamps as suggested by someone else or if your handwriting is neat enough, do it freehand. I would only go to a computer if you have dozens and dozens to make. Cardstock paper can be purchased in appropriate sizes and scissors can be cheaply bought that scallop or shape the edges of patterned paper you could use to adorn the cardstock paper.
Themes are great!!!! A baby shower theme is simple. But a travel theme with world maps or luggage is cool for a bon voyage party. Be imaginative, if you can. Or keep it simple and neat!
Don't be afraid to ask a sales person for ideas or a collection of supplies for making labels.

Go to your local office supply store and pick up some premade Avery labels, they have instructions on the package on how to print on them. You can also use the envelopes/lables tool in MS Word.
