Over the past year Ive been having very disturbing dreams where my mom is trying to stab me with a knife. They occur every few months or so randomly. Does it mean anything? I know my mom would never do that to me but we dont exactly have a perfect relationship.

Sigmund Freud once said that, "sometimes a cigar is just a cigar"-ie. not everything has a hidden meaning. Dreams are abstract and they don't have to mean anything.

However, if you're seeking for some kind of meaning, it has nothing do do with you actually fearing that your mother is going to kill you. Likely, your subconscious is telling you that you're nervous about some part of your relationship with your mother. Maybe you fear that she's going to betray you in some way..maybe you feel she's pushing you away somehow, or that she's letting you down. Does your dream seem to reoccur after the two of you have had an argument over privacy or you feel some measure (even if it's small) of betrayal by her? Any of these things could me metaphors in your dream for what you're describing.

Anyhow, don't let yourself get too stressed out. This is just a dream, not a premonition. There are some sources online you can consult as well...just go to any search engine and enter "dream interpretations" or "dream dictionaries". These might be able to help you as well.

Best of luck!

Okay, you have a pefect relationship.

Being stabbed by loved one could mean you are in lack of sense of security. In this case, you don't feel safe around her. You may think she is not giving what you need. Yes, a perfect relationship, but that also can mean you want to demand more from your mom. Sometimes, life is too perfect can fill me mistake in your subconscious mind. You projected some faults from your mom, so that you will end up feeling better in real life. In other words, you are confused and have some sort of conflict feelings.

Not sure if you have watched some horror movies that triggered you this dream. I hope you did, otherwise, deep down, you may have problem with your self-confidence, and trust to your mom

I do not have a pat answer for this, but I have sat in some psychology classes.
I seem to remember the professor stating that dreams are the way the brain processes activities that a person has had during a recent period of time. You should not attach relevant meaning to a dream.
Psychologically though, you should seek out a professional counselor to be sure you are not under a particular stress causing you to have bad dreams. I hope that you have talked to your mother about these dreams. I believe that you are subconsciously asking for professional help. What kind of movies, TV, or music are you listening to.

Your dreams are always a reflection of problems you're having in your real life. I would say that your mom stabbing you signifies that you think that she really hates you, and is ready to if not outright kill you, to at least get you out of her life. You won't be able to get rid of these dreams until you resolve the underlying issues. And they won't go away by themselves. You should talk to your Mom about what is bothering both of you. I guarantee that she will be thankful that you're willing to try to figure out how to repair your relationship. Keep it calm. Don't allow yourself to argue. And really LISTEN to her. You don't have to agree with what she says, but you should explain to her why you don't. There are very few problems that can not be resolved. And you need to get this done now, because the longer it's left, the harder it is to confront the issues.

Good luck!

Interpret Your Dreams on this site all the meanings without having to look them up never mind the...Title...of the web-site. http://www.freakydreams.com/ because Good Dreams also can be Interpreted.
Dreaming is a place of possibility and creation, a land of futures that might come and pasts that never were. It is also a land of nightmares.
It constantly changes as people fall asleep and shape parts of it, then wake up and their dreams dissolve back into mist. A dreams dictionary always helps ( for other descriptions needed ). http://myjellybean.com/dream/pagey.html
Did you know you can make yourself dream anything its called...Lucid Dreaming which this site will explains along with some other questions about dreaming. http://www.dreams.ca/

Fighting with the Feminine within could be viewed as an attempt to break away for mom, but it could be that you're not ready to "merge" with the power of the Feminine. If there was a ritual for womanhood, you'd be preparing for that ceremony.

There is an old dream description about a girl who doesn't want to enter into the circle of old women. But once she "got in-touch-with" the circle of womanhood, the dreams went away.

Talk to your Mom about, "what does it mean to be a part of all the women in the world?"

Cheers

Hi. I suggest you go talk to your mom and check if she has something against you. Well not really against you but things that maybe she doesn't like you to be doing. Or, find sometime with yourself alone and think of things that you might have done that your mom didn't liked, (or/and things you're afraid of telling her), then go check it with her. Sometimes dreams do mean something abstractly to let the mind think of our fears, guilt and conscience, and heightened emotions that we still carry at the back of our heads unconsciously. What I'm tellin' you is only a suggestion, I'm not a psychic but I'm a psyche grad.
For extra info: Dreams have been described physiologically as a response to neural processes during sleep, psychologically as reflections of the unconscious including fantasies, and spiritually as messages from God or predictions of the future (oneiromancy).

Maybe you should get a shrink or go to a help group. Sometimes it helps if you lock your door or find some other way to make yourself feel safe. You could also try having a journal or something else to keep your mind away from any disturbing thoughts. Or talk about it with your mom. Something could really be bothering you and you need to get it out.

Dreams are very important. They are your subconscious mind communicating with your conscious mind. The dream of your mother trying to stab you probably has to do with you feeling a certain way about her. Do you feel like she won't let you "live" your life the way you want? Do what you know is right and just realize these dreams are symbolic of how you actually feel.

Are you young and/or still under your mom's roof? Maybe you feel like she is hurting you by some thing(s) that she may be doing or saying when she is really trynig to help you...but it is showing up in the dream like that....who knows? Look up ''stabbing'' and ''knife'' on dream moods.com or go to a different dream dictionary and see if anything pertains to you
