I want to watch a DVD on my laptop but it isn't a true widescreen, it cuts off the majority of it so that the video is framed with a black section even if i select fullscreen.

watching movies on computers, depends on monitor and video card, sometimes it is really fun... I had my movies on computers while at collage. It's always easier...

This is because of the video format of the DVD. They are all like that, unless you go into the options of the program and instead of selecting widescreen, try Pan and Scan. This will cut off the sides of the movie, but the overall picture will be bigger.

You could get a widescreen monitor to hook up to your laptop if you really want to watch movies with your laptop though that limits your mobility with the laptop and the monitor


If you don't want to do the 400 dollar option just get full screen movies

Watch them with VLC Media Player. You can change the picture by right clicking the video and messing around with Aspect Ratio and Crop. You can download it for http://www.VideoLan.org
