I know I should be doing my own homework, but I was wondering if anyone could give me some websites to figure out the answers to these questions? I couldn't find a website anywhere that provided them for me.

Determine the most important factors leading to Philip of Macedon's success as a general.

What features of world societies made it possible for Alexander to be as successful as he was?

I know the answer to The success of Philip of Macedon, but I need to provide examples. The answer I got was 'He was able to bring his people and kingdom out of the hinterland and into the better culture of Greece culture.' All I need to explain is how he brought them out of the hinterlands.

Once again, all I need is some websites.. but also knowledge that you occupy would be a big help as well. Thanks.

I'm in a school that doesn't provide text books. We use laptops for all of our information gathering.

the best thig to do is just search via a search engine, even read up a little background using th wikipedia online encyclopedia. With regards to how Philip managed to 'bring his people out of the hinterland', he mainly did that through economic means (agricultural increases and increase in armed forces). the increase in armed forces led him to take control of the union of city states in ancient Greece and thus this control over the other city states assisted in the wealth his kingdom acquired. So it was basically due to his military strengths and successful stratergies, as he was then able to control most of ancient Greece and build his kingdoms wealth upon there, as well as educate his people using the culture and education other city states such as Athens had at the time of his rule.

You'd probably find this information quicker if you use a text book or go to a library. The internet is a great tool but there is also a lot of crap on it and you need to be careful that the sources you use are credible and not just a lot of waffle someone has thrown together :) Good luck though.

Okay, here's the skinny: the internet is not going to provide answers for those BS questions. The answers are written into your particular history book. It's how the books are written, not so much as what's in them. They want to make sure you are doing the reading. They could give a crap about your understanding of history.

I have provided to you the best sites about Greek history and the history of the ancient Greek kingdom of Macedonia.
Be careful not to confuse the ancient Greek kingdom of Macedonia with the modern Slavic state that uses the same name! they are not related at all.
