for classic rock try anything C.C.R. they are fun and use odd timmings. Also Beatles use some unusual chords and beat counts like in "good day sunshine" "blackbird" etc. so they are good to learn if you want some vesitility. The Ventures and Dick Dale are always great to especialy to built up speed on

you may want to first verify out what type of song you attempt to emulate. then bypass from there. i'm a funk junkie myself, so I were given thousands of james brown, funkadelic, ohio gamers, and kool and the team and merely tried to play it by technique of ear, and if i could not, then i'd seem up tabs for it. as for lead guitar? i'd say study the mandatory blues scale, and then study some licks for it (theres numerous sites which could help you with that, merely google it). it truly is a good base to construct on even as it consists of soloing. improv is something you'll receive even as jamming with different musicians.

Learn some AC/DC. They have a good rock foundation.

learn "Over the Hills and Far Away" by Led Zeppelin. it sounds impressive, but it's really not too awfully hard to play.
