I just dont see how anyone can tell who is gay or not... I thought that I had it... and I asked this guy if he was... and he got all offended and said"NO! and swore at me..." I justwas wondering how to use it... thanks for the serious aswers and to all you gay haters shut up!

I am a straight female and I have excellent gaydar. My brother and cousin are gay, so I have been spoiled and treated like a queen (maybe I should say princess) by them for a good deal of my life...anyway, being amongst the gay community, gaydar is something that has been finely honed in me...maybe because I am more objective and am obviously not looking to date any of these guys, I can catch it pretty easily. Unfortunately, there are still some very cautious or closeted gay men out there, so I would suggest if you get a blip on your screen but aren't sure...approach him as you would anyone else you're interested in striking up a conversation with. If he's gay and interested in you, he will let you know pretty quickly. If you think he's gay but closeted about it, you should ask yourself how much digging you want to do to find out if he's really gay or not? I know I would want to be with someone who is comfortable in their identity, in who they are, if that is your goal.

Well, my gaydar is pretty good, but I don't trust enough to just blurt out, "are you gay?" when I get a blip on the screen. For the most part I check for eye contact first. Then there are just some conversational cues if I'm getting the right eye contact. But you have to be cool. Even a gay guy might not want to answer that question truthfully when he doesn't know why you're asking, or if he's on the job and has been warned about hitting on customers, or for 100 other reasons!

well for me and my gaydar a lesbian just has a look about her that sets off my gaydar and gay guys too they are the easyest to pick up lol and i use my gaydar to start up a conver. like so where do you hang out blah blah blah what clubs do you go to blah blah blah what do you do for fun blah blah blah but you see i live in a cithy with only 2 gay clubs so if they are gay and there gaydar went off then they get the hint as to what i am trying to ask in coad lol

well, having gaydar, and trusting it are two totally different things. I always know who COULD be gay, who is, and who is totally in denial. NEVER approach someone until you confirm your gaydar with at least 2 other family members just to be on the safe side.

I wonder too, I'm bi so I thought I had it, till I recently asked a friend I work with if he's gay (always assuming he was) and he's NOT.
He wasn't mad or freaked, I was more upset my gay-dar was wrong ;)

it's a "skill" we all have...sometimes you just gotta hone it! mine works most of the time.... weirdly, though, I'm better at picking out the gays guys better than the lesbians!! LOL!!
