If you are in the town where the house is, check the address at the tax assessor's office at the county courthouse. Ask the staff for help in looking it up. It's part of their job. If you can get your hands on a city directory with a cross-reference index (listed by address) that will work too. There should be one in the public library of the town where the house is located, if you can go there.

depending on the size of the town that the house is in you would either go to the town hall or the court house and you can access the public records of the sale of the house also if the have done any remodeling to the house you would be able to view the building permits hope this helps

The town/city records will show the name of the current owner. You might be able to give the address to a town clerk if it is a small town and you are a sweet talker, otherwise you will have to go look it up yourself.

Do you know where this house is and can you get to it? Just try to go to the house and ask the present occupants.
