is he scratching? do u see any black specs? mites? if so i posted a home remedy for them earlier. so he's eating/drinking ok? what kind of bedding r they using? make sure its not cedar or pine, only aspen, carefresh, or corncob. it could be an allergic reaction to it. low protein can cause it too. have them check that the % of protein on their food says at least 15%. the more the better. it could be mange and if so it must be taken to the vet for medicine.

I had a hamster that had got sores on her feet and was raw on her underside and I found out it was because of the wheel that she ran in somehow made her raw!!!I got her a metal wheel and she healed.Either something is making the hamster raw that it is rubbing against or if the hamster is female, she could be pregnant or is having a false pregnancy and pulling her hair out to make a nest for her to have babies,it causes sores too.It really sounds like the hamster is rubbing against something like a hole in its hamster house that is too small or if the wheel it runs in is a plastic one, those kind seem to injure the poor animals but the hamster wants to run so badly it will hurt its self just to run and will keep hurting its self. The plastic hamster wheels should be removed from the market because of all the injuries they can cause. If this doesn't sound like it is the problem or your hamster couldn't be pregnant then you should take the hamster to the vet to get checked,it could have a secondary infection or some sort of parasite. You can use neosporin for people to help heal your hamsters sores, that's what helped heal my hamster in no time!!

Take your hamster to the vet. There is something medically wrong with him. The vet can prescribe medicine for the sores. Don't delay because hamsters can succumb to illnesses really fast.

If it was my hamster I would be taking him to the vet. I've had hamsters and have never had any of mine lose its hair and get sores. It could be mites.
