I agree with the pandora suggestion, that site is great.
Also try Howie Day (he has a live recording with John Mayer called "So Sorry" that is AMAZING! Ray Lamontagne, Ben Harper, Gavin DeGraw, Marc Broussard "Home" and "Rocksteady", and Rufus Wainwright. Also, Dashboard Confessional, although very pop/trendy, have some great lyrics like in the song "Hands Down."

Ray Lamontagne, Ben Harper, Gavin DeGraw, Marc Broussard "residing house" and "Rocksteady", and Rufus Wainwright. also, Dashboard Confessional, even in spite of the undeniable fact that very pop/sought after, have some tremendous lyrics like contained in the music "fingers Down."

If you like Norah Jones, you should try Madeleine Peyroux. Very different - a bit more jazzy than Norah Jones - but something good to listen to on a relaxing afternoon.

I suggest going to http://www.pandora.com and create a station for one of those artists and you get tons of similar music.
