Common courtesy dictates that you would have to return it. I agree with this, because I know if I lost a phone I would want someone to return it to me.

Get a No Cost Phone Number Scan at https://bitly.im/aL0V8

Here's Reverse / Whose Number Lookup page. If you're talking about cell phones, you usually have to pay for that. I've had pretty good luck just using Google a phone number to find out who's calling. If you are researching a quantity of numbers, though, I suppose, you might want a service. I can't imagine why the average person would need to research a quantity of numbers, though, so I assume this is business-related, and it then seems only fair that you pay for a service. But maybe it's not.

I would return it. It's the right thing to do. Also, the cell phone could be rendered useless if it's on Sprint or Verizon since they lock the ESN of the phone when it's reported lost or stolen.

You'd need to return the phone and anyone who wouldn't has bad karma headed their way. You reap what you sow. The monetary/property reward of keeping the phone cannot even compare to the knowledge that you're doing (obviously) the right thing. With a moral transgression like keeping someone else's phone hanging over your head, you become a slave to this ethical transgression. It defines you and limits you. Good things come to those who do good things, pure and simple.

Sure. I'd return it. I'm honest.

Besides, what would I do with someone else's cell phone? I have my own. We all have cell phones now. Big deal.

Definately return it.

I have had 2 cell phones get stolen and I know how awful it is to have to replace them and get your contacts put back in. I wouldn't want other people to have to go through it all.

return it! try calling "home" to tell the lucky person you found their phone. If the battery is dead, take it in to the nearest service provider and they can usually find the owner.
