If you want other people to remember an occassion or day that is special to you, then it is up to you to remind them. It does NOT take the "specialness" out of it to do so ... most don't mean anything by it ... people these days are terribly busy and self asorbed and often don't even realize the need to remember other peoples events, sad to say. If you want someone to celebrate with you, then tell them so!

I don't think people really mean to.They are just busy,with work and their home life.One persons special occasion isn't necessarily another person's special occasion.Every one forgets my birthday and it does not bother me as i don't remind people as to me my birthday is not a big deal to me.
