I suggest Cancun, Mexico. Cancun is a built up tourist place with many nice big hotels, restaurants and shopping centers as well as the downtown market. It actually has THE best beaches in Mexico. But do beware of the undertow warnings posted daily. Cancun is set up perfectly for tourists with all of the hotels in a location called “the hotel district”. There are a large variety of restaurants and a couple of shopping malls in the hotel district. There is no need for a car because there is continuous bus service up and down the hotel district that will take you where ever you need/want to go for about $1.00. You can also take the bus into town if you want to go to the market or just see the town. From Cancun you can take tours to Chichen Itza, and Xcarat and some other great places. There are a lot of beach activities in Cancun like parasailing, jet skiing, surfing, and lots of fun things for couples, like the booze cruise and the jungle cruise across the lagoon. You can reserve tours online; we used the Best Day tour company and they were good and so was our tour to Chichen Itza with them.. And the US Mexico exchange rate is about 5 pesos to a US dollar

The islands in the Caribbean in early Nov must be great because the hurricane season has gone. The problem is choosing where to go. Dom Rep? Bahamas? St Lucia? Barbados?

It depends on how warm, what you like to do and how far you want to go and how you want to get there.
Examples: Hilton Head. Easy to drive to, secluded but still cool.
South Florida: Much warmer, very crowded, much longer drive
California/Arizona: Warm in the right spots, secluded/crowded depending on where you go and will probably requires driving.
Hawaii: Nearly perfect weather, stay away from Oahau, but a long plane ride. Lots to do, easy to relax. I'd pick Maui.

Try Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean, it's really beautiful and tropical there. The food is great, the people are friendly and the beaches are gorgeous.
