There is no any scientific proofs or evidences to answer this question. All answers that you will get will be based on different faith and beliefs. The right time (which nobody could tell when) will come for you to know where your soul will go. It is like going to a new place you have never gone. Isn't it just right to keep yourself "presentable" to this future mysterious journey?

as per hindu belief , the birht / death cycle goes on. then some people think the soul goes to heaven or hell. i don't think there is anything called soul.once the body stop functioning , even the thought process should stop. the remains will be claimed by nature in due time for other creatures . the elements on earth doesn't change their proportions much , right?

The same place the flame goes when you blow
out a candle - nowhere. It just ceases to exist,
assuming there is any such thing as a soul in the
first place, which is highly improbable.

Perhaps when you die the essence of what you are continues in another dimension. A bit like turning the corner on a street, you are still there but no body in the street can see you any more.

They wait for the day of judgement before going to hell or heaven..they are awaken on day of judgement ..before that they are in state of sleep.
