that there are teenagers and possibly younger on here? How many people think that questions should be G (General Audience) rated on here?

Just an FYI, I am not against teens and pre-teens being on here, I am just concerned for what they read on here.

For Ethol, most kids know a great deal about computers today and know how to work around blocked settings. My niece already has the knowledge to build a computer from scratch and I am sure if she wanted to could change the parental settings on one.

I am an older teen, and I don't really have a problem with the questions. Sure, some of them are stupid, sex- orientated, or immature, but that just makes it all the more amusing (or disgusting, depending on my mood). However, there IS the problem of younger children, so I guess you have a point. I can't Yahoo Chat because I am not 18 yet, and I think if you are too young to see some of the questions, you should not be allowed into certain areas. I think that users under the age of 15 shouldn't be able to access certain parts of the site.

There's already been a question on here a couple of days ago asking if Yahoo should do something to have Yahoo Answers be 21+. I say there should be a Yahoo answers for teens and preteens but it should be separate from the adults. Call it Yahoo Answers Jr or something like that.

I think it is obvious that many Answers users are young.
Some of our younger users are surprisingly mature.
Some of our older users are surprisingly immature.
The Questions & Answers already are supposed to be "G" rated.
Thats what Community Guidelines" is all about & the reason for the Abuse Flag.
Yahoo! doesn't screen all Q's & A's....that is up to us.
If you see something that is inappropriate you should report it, then Yahoo! screens it.
I believe there is also some kind of "control" that parents use to 'block' some content .
Jenny-I guess your right about the kids computer knowledge!
I don't have any kids & nobody uses my computer but me , but even so, I block graphic content from myself !
LOL (seriously , I do!)

I try to keep in mind that there are teenagers on here. I think there should be some sort rating system on here, maybe adult answers, teen answers, and youth answers.
This is for Anna, as a teenager did your parents know everything you did?
You know what, I am so sick and tired of the high and mighty answers to questions refering to kids and parental control. "My kid would never", "My kid isn't allowed", "If parents really cared". The people who answer like this I feel are just making up for their own negligent parenting. Kids do things whether or not they are allowed to, even when the parents care enough to set boundries the kids can and do find ways around them. I care very deeply as to what my kids do and for the most part they are very well behaved but they will press limits and do things they are not supposed to do. My teenage son has been on inappropriate sites on here and we have the computer set to parental settings. He figured away around them. We have forbidden he smoke, yet he gets them off his friends. For this he has been grounded on many occasions. It's not lack of caring but sometimes even when you try your best it's not good enough and you need to accept it. You know the worst part, his friends get the cigarettes from adults, like many on here, who don't give a damn to the parents rules or are to immature to appreciate the thought of them themselves. How many of you have seen a question from a teen refering to sex or drugs answered in a way you would never consider speaking to your teen? I think THAT is what Jenny is refering to, the inappropriate language used by the adults not the kids. As far as listening to the kids mouths of today, please do. They may talk like they know as much as we do but they don't understand half of what they know. So instead of thinking "If they can talk like adults...." teach them they need to grow up some more before they talk like that. Here's a saying I really like "IT TAKES A VILLAGE TO RAISE A CHILD." Kids learn from example from other places than home.

Well I know and I bet many of Yahoo! Answers' users have notice many questions that don't actually sound from an adult. Many questions are asked by teenagers and I think they should have a right to be here also.
They ask pretty good questions, but sometimes they just waste our time, but still, they should have a right to be here :)

Well, mine's 14, and she's not allowed on here, for obvious reasons. If parents really cared about their kids, they'd monitor their kids actions, instead of just turning them loose to do what they want.

Eh, just take the questions as they come along. I know most of the users are teenagers but I have fun answering their questions.
