I have been feeding it Hikari Betta bio-gold for 3 months. Recently I was feeding him his pellets and I noticed he was eating them and then spiting them out. Is there something wrong with him?

Maybe he is full as their stomach is small and with poor digestion. So what about fast your fish for a few days to let his stomach rest or maybe try others food? Don't worry, it wouldn't hurt your fish cos' they can stay without food for up to the longest, two week but don't try it for that long cos' it will weaken your fish too. Eating and spitting out food is just to soften them cos' they have no teeth. But if he can't even swallow means that maybe he got mouth ucler. You can try some Pelafix cos' this heals the interal wound.

Do not take your betta to the petstore, most workers there know nothing!!! Not eating can be a sign of hexamita, or he may just not like what you are feeding him, they can be very picky.

You need to bring your fish to the pet store. They will tell you the kind of food he like to eat, don't take it to the vet office take it directly to the pet store.
