Is it wrong that I only care about the US?

France, Russia, and Germany only care about themselves, made evident by the oil-for-food program. So what's the beef?

Heck, Mexico doesn't even care about it's whole country. Only the rich and the industries, made evident by the 1 million Mexicans sneaking in illegally each year into our country

As good world citizen we should treat other nations with the same respect we want to receive. Something that hasn't happened in the few last years,

In a word, no. I would say that your example isn't a case of only caring about their own (France, Russia...). They have been acting in self-destruction.

I can conduct my life in a selfish manner, only so long as everybody can be permitted the same. If I start cheating & such (like France), I am no longer caring for myself, and I'm making it impossible for others to do the same.

What? The oil-for-food program?
Wasn't that a US led thing under Clinton? Why does the oil-for-food program lead you to believe that France, Russia and Germany only care about themselves? Odd odd odd.

If I remember correctly it was quite a flawed program, quite ineffectual, but with a good heart though, designed to help the impoverished people of Iraq (impoverished due to US sanctions) get much needed food and medicines.

So what's YOUR beef?

It'd be nice if more peeps DID care about the US. We spend all our resoiurces on other countries while we have our own homeless, starving, and uneducated. Katrina was a perfect example; Bush's little terror war in Iraq was more important than the frigging people who may or may not have voted for him.

Althoug the United States isn't the only country in the world and by the looks of it we have a retatrded leader. Personally on the thing with them helping to fight against Lebanon. No. if we set example that we love our country and pull to get our governing boobs to care and demonstrate their care by swift positive action the other countries still may hate us US but they will respect us! One time they hated the ugly american but they feared to harm us when we visited them , even in war time. Now our embassies are targets and have to be hardened in to fortification. It will only get worse if we sit and do nothing but watch hollywood and sport jocks.

I think it is important to care for humanity as a whole. People are people, regardless of their nationality, and deserve our respect regardless of their government's actions.

It's important to care about other countries because their government's choices ultimately affect a great number of people.

Excuse me, EXCUSE ME! There is nothing wrong about caring for your own country. With our limited powers that is probablyall most of us can care about.

However you appear to be defining your care of the USA in terms of how little you or anyone else cares about anyone elses country.

nope, you did neglect to mention the UN though. They were right in there. And people wonder why we didn't give a damn as to how they felt about us going into Iraq. LOL.....They were against it because they were bilking the world for millions and didn't want their gravy train to stop.
