That depends on who I am listening to:
Rage Against the Machine, Gotta LOVE the lyrics.
Tool, hard one, but music first then study the lyrics.
Jimi Hendrix, Gotta love the music
Korn - The music, they are not pushing any lyrical boundries for me
You get the picture

Well,I think the music is what makes people want to listen to the lyrics..I mean I wouldn't listen to a song that had awesome lyrics but crappy music.Yeah so basically I think that if the music is bad people wont even take the time to hear the lyrics so it's just pointless.

I find that in the greatest songs both the music and the lyrics are great. However, in a general situation I think music appeals to me more.

It really all depends. If it's an upbeat, lets dance kind of song, not so much, but songs that are more mellow and soft, the ones where you really hear the words, I tend to pay attention to the lyrics more. I love lyrics though, so I am always looking for songs I love lyrically no matter what type they are.

I love songs when the words co-respond with the beat so it just flows. I love reading the lyrics cause some rappers can be very creative and In find it funny!

depends on the artist. What you need is a good mesh.
There are songs that rely soley on lyrics and have the most generic "music"
Or good music with horrible lyrics.
Like, I like randy rhodes guitar solos, he's like a god, but the lyrics are crap.
However, on the opposite side of the spectrum, i like pearl jam's and pink floyd's lyrics with only the simplistic intruments.

i like both but i focus more on the music if im listening to rock cause sometimes theres a really good drummer but the lead singer cant sing and the lead singer doesnt make up the whole band.if im listening to rap or r&b i usually pay more attention to the lyrics.

Having a "boy's" style in song with out delay makes you extra interesting to confer with for the alternative sex. i do not comprehend if you're of courting age yet, yet this delivers significant bonus factors. purely be open to new song; it variety of feels as in spite of the undeniable fact that all of your affinities lie interior an same favourite form. shop an open ear and an open ideas, and also you'll discover some tremendous stuff. Plus, that is continually "cool" to be cultured on your song tastes!

The song matters, but the lyrics have to be easy to remember so I can sing along.
