Anyone know the name of a movie from the 90's?

some guy makes this new virtual reality game and the kid starts to play it and when they all walk away the bad guy in the game starts to talk to him and eventually the kid loses but dies and no one know what happens. so it keeps happening and this girl figures it out and plays the game and eventually beats him

Sounds like Brainscan (1994) to me.

It's been a while since I've seen it, but it stars Eddie Furlong and has a similar plot.
