Only the Mercury Cougar from 1999 to 2002 were Front wheel Drive. Before that since 1967 all of them were Rear wheel drive. Never ever build an AWD.

F V nailed it ......older cougars all the way up to early 90's rear drive, new ones front only.

It depends on the model. Mercury makes AWD models, otherwise they are not all AWD. Subaru Outbacks are all AWD models.
