Is this hard to do yourself? I looked at it, and it doesnt look compicated. All the wireing is what makes it look bad. The parts only cost 15.00, and the engine has throttle body injection.

It all depends on how skilled you are mechanically. You are right, replacing intake gaskets is not a very complicated job. You just have to pull the distributor, unhook all the lines running to and from the engine, drain and unhook the coolant hose, loosen intake, pry off, and there you have it. You want to take off the distributor cap and mark the location of the rotor and the location of the housing where it meets the intake manifold. You also want to take extra precaution to not drop any of the gasket material you scrape off into the intake ports or in the lifter valley.

Here is another tip, throw away the front and rear rubber intake gaskets and run a very large bead of silicone along the front and rear of the mating surface of the engine and intake manifold before you install the intake. The front and rear gaskets are prone to slip out and leak oil. Using the silicone will prevent this.

its not that bad at all but if you DO NOT have the correct tools dont attempt it. you will need a torque wrench and some time. and add in the coolant, TBI gasket, valve cover gaskets, the parts come closer to 70 bucks

YOU DIFFIDENTLY NEED TO KNOW WHAT YOUR DOING AND IT WILL COST A LITTLE BIT MORE THEN 15.00 YOU HAVE TO ADD ANTIFREEZE AND VALVE COVER GASKETS, INTAKE GASKETS AND YOU MIGHT AS WELL CHANGE THE THERMOSTAT AND GASKET WHILE YOU HAVE EVERYTHING APART AND Y OU WILL NEED ALLOT OF TIME
