Why is it that kids nowadays know more about sex, mainly targeting 1st-3rd graders. I have a 8 year old cousin that knows what sex is and knows what a dick is, says it with her friends, and knows what I didn't know til' I was in 5th. She also has a friend who's cousin is FIVE YEARS OLD, and knows what sex is and think a guy and a guy liking each other or a girl and a girl liking each other is fine. And you may say, "Thay no nothing of that!" But they only tell the ppl they trust the most. If your their ma or dad, you'd probably never find out til they show more obvious signs.

it's amazing how young these kids are when they become aware of such things. The sad thing is the parents think that their kids don't know anything and choose to take them to places where their kids can be exposed to such material movies, etc. talking about sex, etc. can also introduce a child to sex much earlier that he/she should be introduced to it. the way things are nowadays (sex on magazines, in videos, in music) and parents with a blatant disregard to what their child is seeing/ hearing is really the cause behind it.

I agree with you. I did'nt find out about the birds and the bees until I was about 10. And even that info was a bit scanty. My mother was pretty good about explaining and as i got older she then told me more and more , about as much as i could handle. I have really no idea why children are being told as young as 5. That is terrible. Children need their innocence.
My aunt was also good at explaining too. But she would say that Daddy give mummy a special hug and thats how babies are made. i think its important children know the correct names for their private parts and also be told that their private parts are just that, private and there is an appropriate time to talk about this

because every generation learns things earlier than the ppl before them-
sex, drugs, everything.
All thats going on in the world and how everything is these days, more than usual hear about it and learn- then word of mouth once school starts passes it around til everyone knows.
lots probably dont know exactly everything or eve understand- but most do know the basics.

I think its because the world has made it an acceptable topic to talk about at home. My mom didn't know what homosexual was until her senior highschool year. I found out about it in 1st grade. Times are changing.

Because people aren't as uptight as they used to be, people are accepting other's beliefs more, and because knowing about sex is becoming more important. People ought to be loosening up about this. I learned about sex when I was about five. It's no big deal. Are you offended by it?
