Ive posted questions a few times about this but im going to try it one more time-
I need to buy glue to re adhere a small portion of my dashboard down that has lifted in my car. the part that has lifted is right above the steering wheel/gauge panel area. Its lifted up about an inch from where its possed to be.
when the car has been setting in the sun, the dashboard is easy to push back down into place- so i need to sand down the old glue spots, wait til its warmed up and pliable- and then put on some new glue and hold it into place til it dries....
what kind of glue? thats my question. some ppl say use the 3M products, but ive read bad reviews about these. others say use this concrete type glue- its for things where 1 surface is porous and the other isnt.
Can anybody tell me- where to go to get it, and what kind/name to get??

You will want a urethane body sealer to do this job. It is very sticky and dries as hard as metal. You will want to apply the urethane adhesive and use some c-clamps to hold the vinyl in place until it dries. Fusor is the brand name of the product, it is used by the dealer to mount any surface to any other surface, and is PERMANENT! Try not to get any on anything else in the vehicle, because it will not come off.

I agree with backfire, but I would make sure that everything is in order and ready to go before mixing the 1 minute epoxy, it says 1 minute but you really only have about 30 seconds of working time until it starts to set and becomes useless.

as bad as it sounds i recommend using "liquid nails" in a caulking tube from home depot or Lowe's and place some weight on the part of the dash where it is for at least for about a 24 hour time period this stuff is listed as "construction adhesive" and once set it is very strong and flexible

(this is the stuff they use to hold floor panels down and some "cement" to foundation for terracotta stones )

My first thought is glue gun. Glue guns tend to leave stringy, spider web looking strands too. Hot glue definitely dries rubbery.

Trim adhesive. Any auto parts store should have it. And there isn't anything wrong with 3M products.
