i would rather be British or Welsh or Irish or Scottish or Canadian than American. America has a bad reputation as being lazy and stupid. I am neither, altough i do admit to being arrogant and immature but that's individuality and Free Speech protects morons like me, right?

Like France the UK is a has been country that is overloaded with entitlement programs and socialized medicine. The middle class is being squeezed even more than in the US. People in the US think our taxes are high but when you dissect the tax structures of European countries our system is much less. Considering all the space and variety the US has it appears to be the best country in the world. The Eu is taking away the identity of countries that make up its union and the national pride of each country is shrinking as more countries are added to the mix. What was supposed to be an economic union has turned into a blend of political issues and economic issues that make a mold that no country can conform to. France is propped up by the union and Germany is the loser in the bunch for without the burden of France, the UK and other countries it could have a better position in the world.

The best place to live is Luxembourg as they have the highest GDP per capita in the world.
Ireland is 4th on that list and the UK is 8th.
