I don't understand why she doesn't want a tombstone for her dead son, Casey. She says she doesn't want to believe he's dead, so she doesn't put a tombstone. However, she is constantly saying how he IS dead, and how it is all Bush's fault (even though Casey made the choice to go into the Army....), but she says that she doesn't want a reminder he's dead. She continues to bring him up, but she says that she just wants to not believe that he actually died. The DoD has said they woul pay for the headstone in full, but she still won't get one. Why is she so disrespectful to her own son's memory?

I'm not sure about Cindy Sheehan. Has she always been far out there or did her son's death bring her to this point. If she wants to protest and speak out.... that's her business and right. What is disturbing is her obsession with it. She was hospitalized this week due to a hunger strike she was on (I think about 27 days without eating.... that was stupid on her part). She only briefly left her protest a year ago after her mother had a stroke... if my mother had a stroke I would be by my mother's side for a lot longer than that. She was out protesting while her husband filed for divorce. I don't know what went on in their home but my guess is the protesting was part of the cause for the divorce. She should have been with her husband, comforting each other and helping each other cope with their loss. If I was her husband I would have felt abandoned too.
It seems to me that Cindy Sheehan is more concerned about her agenda than she is about her health and her family.
What is even more alraming is that she believes the only reason terrorists are after us is because of our foreign policy. 1. If they are willing to kill civilians because of this... they need to be stopped because they will and do kill civilians around the world because of religion, forign policy, and for power. 2. The U.S. is not the only Western cvountry to be attacked by terrorists.

Casey Sheehan's grave lacked a headstone for the first two years after his death. A stone was placed there in May 2006 (paid for by the DoD).

Cindy's one of the biggest wackos out there...but the rumor about Casey not having a headstone needs to stop.

Actually Casey finally did get a headstone but it is said that his father paid for it not her. She said her reason was because it would mean he was really gone. I don't buy that. I lost my husband and I made damn sure the military put a head stone on his grave and paid for it! I thought that was the least they could do. She sure doesn't mind having her picture taken laying accrossed his grave though. Whatever she is a Democratic pawn nothing more. When it's all over they will throw her away like Lieberman.

I don't know the women but the loss of a child is a parents worst nightmare, no matter how they died. Whether she likes it or not Casey will be remembered always by his fellow soldiers, especially those he served with in combat. So, headstone or no headstone life goes on... Thank you Casey, a grateful old man.....

It is beyond me.

It seems like she could further her agenda if she had the tombstone with his birth date and date of death to "bring home the point" of her son dying needlessly.

Agenda or not, it seems like it's the least she could do for her brave son who fought to allow us to live in a free country. We will never forget that.
