Those hypocritical respondents would probably eat their own babies if they had any idea of what starving to death is like.

Imagine going without a Slurpie for a whole day! Imagine not having a pizza (extra cheese) for a week! Imagine driving through McDonald's and not saying, "Super-size it."

The typical over-fed American probably wouldn't even wait until the meat was "al dente." And, he or she would probably forego the viccysoise and asparagus salad with raspberry vinegarette and sprinkled feta cheese. Just go right for the leg bone.

Those who thumb their noses at cannibalism have not tasted human flesh. Cooked to medium rare, it tastes just like chicken.

Yes. I'm pretty sure I would if it meant survival and I didn't have to kill someone to do so.

I've read enough personal accounts of people in this dire situation to realize one thing for sure: You can not know for sure what you would do until you find yourself in such a dilemma. Even morality gets tossed aside in such desperate circumstances.

Other here have mentioned the Donner party (still under scrutiny as to whether it took place) and the crash of an airliner in the Andes (see the book "Alive"). These situations left people with little hope for survival or rescue. Hope was gone.

It is also interesting that many of those who have had to face this circumstance were "forgiven" by society once they were rescued and recounted their actions. One woman was actually glad that her relative, though dead, was able to "contribute" to the "rescue" of the remaining survivors.

Ya never know...

If there was nothing else to eat, I might, as I cant really say for sure. It would depend how long the person I was about to eat had been dead and if they were already rotting. If that were the case, I think that I would find some bark to eat. I do not have any real reasons that I wouldn't in extreme situations other than it is gross.

No. If I was starving to death I would not eat human meat. I'm so picky I would not even eat the foods that I dislike. I'd rather eat leaves.

It depends.

1. Not if I had to kill someone in order to eat it.

2. Only if they are still fresh and I wouldn't die of food poisoning rather than starvation. Waste of time cooking it if I'm just going to die.

As long as those two things are in my favor then yes, I would. If I have a chance for survival, I'm not going to choose death because I'm afraid of what other people will think. Screw them. At least I lived.

NO! I am Human. I will not eat Human flesh.

I can think.
I can fast.
I can wait.

Vegetation is an option, so is shoe leather. Human flesh is not an option.

As far as I can tell there is no commandment in any holy books that endorses the ingestion of Human flesh, there no verses against it either.

Inside there each of us is a book that tells us right from wrong.

right that's the deal, we are omnivores and are meant to meat. yet, we were by no skill meant to devour mammal meat. It wasn't till our ancestors got here upon equipment that we were able to kill and devour different mammals effectively. we are meant to devour fish fowl turkey and such. yet all that mammal meat we devour (pigs, cows, goats, ect) is truly slowly replacing our DNA right into a more effective carnivorous species. in case you seem at different carnivorous animals which includes lions, wolves, crocodiles even. they have all were given the distinctive carnivore teeth gained from the evolution of ingesting mammals. So final analysis is, we are unavoidably replacing the evolution of our species into an aggressive suitable predator after we are no longer. the lengthy time period outcomes of interfering with our DNA heavily isn't good except something is executed quickly. connect the strive against, spread information and supplies you up ingesting mammal meat on the prompt formerly it truly is to late. also fyi, pigs are smarter than canine.

I don't think anyone can know that until they are faced with it.
Remember the athletes who went down in the Andes and survived only by eating their dead comrades.

Remember Donner Pass.

It's a huge taboo line to cross. But people have done it out of necessity at times,

and out of their own cultural mores at others.

I'd like to think I wouldn't, cooked or not. But somethings we don't learn about ourselves until the time comes.

People say that they wouldn't, but I have a feeling that we all would if we were pressed hard enough by extreme hunger. I think that this is especially true if we don't actually have to kill the people ourselves, like if someone died in an accident and their body got preserved. Even so, I think that starvation could do alot to obliderate any murder or cannibalism taboo. It's been quite prevalent throughout history in extreme situations.
