Because by avoiding it we are hoping not to have to deal with it. But logic and truth always win out and then it is even more overwhelming because it doesn't go away at all. Sometimes it gets even bigger.
One thing I have done is to become obsessively organized. It makes paperwork go much quicker. I also invested in some really nice organization aids, because it made it more likeable.
Good Luck and remember there is not paperwork bye bye fairy dust------yet.

Because you're like me. I'm a huge procrastinator. Hopefully you're not as bad as me :) The last two summers in a row I have finished my summer homework after school already started... And that's just the beginning of the year... (That's one nice thing about graduating- no sumer homework!)
And by asking this question you're probably procrastinating something, huh? And you're just killing time before you really have to do it. I know the routine well.

You put it off because you hate doing it. We all procrastinate with the things we don't like to do in favor of all those things we really enjoy doing. Best advice: get the stuff you hate out of the way first. Then you'll have all the time in the world for the things you enjoy doing! -RKO-

because you hate doing it but you know it has to be done so you wait till the last possible minuet to do it as that way you have more time to do the things you enjoy. We all do this with things we don't like

Because there is always something that we would rather be doing other than work. Don't feel bad, I do the same thing and then kick myself when I am up all night writing papers.

Deadlines work for you. Some people use deadlines so that their wish to be perfect in their compilation can't be realized—then just put together the data as best you can.

BECAUSE you hate it, that's why... By putting it off, you spoil the remainder of the time between then and when it MUST be done... Knock it out ASAP, then you can enjoy the rest of your time...

Sounds like you answered your own question. You do it last because you hate it... try doing it 1st so you dont have to dread doing it...do it and get it over with.

I know the feeling. I do two piles. One 'must be done' and the other pile to be done anytime, and I kinda work between the two. The non-urgent pile seems to get done quicker..
