First, are you on any kind of medication? Lots of meds can affect eyes, and if this is happening stop what you are doing and call doctor right away. If it isn't that, we all have keratin (sp) in our eyes, it is a protein ,so I have been told, and it breaks off and causes floaters. I have seen crystal, star like things when I am facing the sun with eyes closed and that is the dust fragments reflecting light from sun. It can be very pretty to look.
If this isn't what you are describing please call your doctor, it could be sign of something else that your doctor can help you with.

Vitreous is the name of the clear material that fills the eyeball. 80% of the eye's volume is vitreous -- just like a small spherical fish tank! You may recognize the word "vitreous" as molten glass. Human vitreous has a similar appearance and physical properties.

The vitreous in children is very firm and gelatinous. In older folks, the vitreous is like water. That means there's a transition period during which the gel "melts." The medical term for this process is "syneresis." (Hey, you knew we had a term for this!)

When the vitreous separates from the retina along the wall of our "fish tank" eye, it can stimulate light flashes in the retina.

This accurs sometimes when one arises to rapidly..There is a part of your system which usually increases the blood pressure temporarily, to send sufficient blood to the brain.. (hydrostatic bp). Sometimes there is a delay in its function and you will see bright objects in your field of vision.

It means you're not getting enough oxygen to your brain. Your BP may be low, or you may have stood up too quickly causing a sudden drop in your BP. Either way, I'd let your Dr. know.

these are detached small objects inside your eyeball (vitrous) nothing to worry about ... every eyeball has fluid in it & sometimes when we look into the sky the reflections of light give us what is inside our eyeball ...

If you see them when you suddenly stand up, it may be low blood pressure.

I've heard something about dust particles in your eye and I've heard something about spirits. Take your pick.
