I had some problems that made me reformat my disk with fdisk. The file vmm32.vxd came up and would not go away it said it was missing or corrupted. Anyways I had did a system restore previously. It did not restore. Im also looking for a good linux system that I can use because Im a newbie at this. My computer will not go to safe mode or the desktop. So I need serious help. Which Linux would you suggest and I would hate to spend any money right now or buy a new computer its very sentamental to me. I also have to say that my Windows me did not come with a recovery emergency cd it came with a recovery disk. It is a Windows me Oem.

you could try a linux magazine, they come with a flavor of the month you can run live, just put cd in, reboot see if it is for you.
if not take out cd, reboot, Windows is just like it was.

usually 8-10 pages devoted to that OS, full details. then decide if is too complicated or not

Newbies shouldn't bother with Linux, they don't have the time or patience to learn how to even runa program correctly. Just reinstall Windows, it works for everyone else (if they have an anti-virus program like AVG www.free.grisoft.com). I use both and I don't see a reason to jump, its just too complicated for normal people.

Did you burn the cd as an iso? It willnot artwork in case you burned it as a team of documents. A bios replace isn't an elementary component to do and we would go with information approximately your pc type and bios version. I hesitate to point a bios replace. good success
