just say "i really dont want to talk about this, please"...they should respect ur space and stop...hopefully...if they continue insisting, then have a more forceful tone...

Hi

The way you put it is perfectly fine. I don't want to talk about this is polite and firm. That's what you need. If you try to say this in too nice a way, no one will care and they'll go on talking about whatever it is you don't want the; to talk about. Be confident.

Other options:
I don't feel like talking about this right now. I'll let you know when the time is right if it's something you really want to know about. (Then start talking about something else).

You could also reverse the question. If it's something too personal, be personal as well and ask something embarrassing.

I just change the subject and they usually get the hint. If not I think the only way to do it is just say you don't feel like talking about it right now but ask if you can talk to them at another time if you need to.

Try to change the subject. Or say I do not feel comfortable talking about it.

Just tell them that you would rather talk about something that is a little more pleasant or something that is a little bit less personal. You can still do that and be nice about it.

I know it can be touchy, but don't be afraid to say anything.

you just tell people is't something you don't care to talk on that untill you get things sorted out in your mind:; somethings you can't talk about untill u do sort things out right so just say so . And hopefully the subject will be changed.

Say, "Let's talk about something else." Simple, to the point, and please, always have a backup subject in mind that you immediately switch to. You know what your friends love to talk about, girls, sports, hobbies, whatever. Just steer the conversation away from the sensitive area.

Dear Abby always says to ask the person why they want to know.
I'd probably say something similar to, "I appreciate your concern, but I am not comfortable discussing that right now."
Good luck.

i say, "it's none of your business, so let's talk about something else." and if they keep pushing, i just say, "i don't know why ur trying to talk w/ me about it. i'm not going to. so change the subject."

Slight of hand, quickly deflect the question to a tangent to get away from a sensitive subject. If you let them know that their question troubles you, they will never leave you alone about it!!
