They have a very short life span (a day or two, I think), so if you get rid of their food source, they will die off. Throw away any exposed food (fruit in a basket, leftovers on a plate), and take out the garbage. With the food source gone, they will die quickly, and and baby flies will die soon. They should be completely gone on 2-3 days. This is what has always worked for me.

spread grape jelly on the concrete ground.when the fruit fly takes the bait,then ram a motorcycle tire on its belly.that should work.

With a very small survival knife. Make sure, when you cut it's throat, that you go all the way through his vocal chords, though, so his friends don't know that you're coming for them, next !!!!!!!
