At my job (paramedic) the only required vaccines are the Heb B series, and an annual TB test. It really varies from job to job, though.

To get into a lot of medical training programs, you need to prove that you are either immune or that you have had the vaccinations to a lot of common diseases (varicella, measles, etc). They can find out immunity by drawing some blood and running tests. If you are not immune, you will probably have to repeat some vaccinations.
