You actually need to define "real high". If by that you mean 3.0, then yes, you can swim. If it's off the charts, can't go near the pool and people 1/2 mile away are complaining of fumes. No.
You really need to be more specific.
It's ok to have an X ray at the dentist's, but to have a nuclear reactor blow up in your town is a different story. Get the idea?

NO!! The Chlorine could burn your retina's and cause some real serious damage. Chlorine is like bleach. A little go's a long way.
Remember, the Chlorine that is in your pool go's by the size of the pool. To much added is real bad business.

Never. Recreation centers and outdoor pools have to be closed to the public if chlorine levels are too high. The chlorine is for killing germs, but will do serious damage to your eyes if you swim in over-chlorinated water. Even if you swim with your eyes closed tight, you would experience an uncomfortable burning sensation on your face. It's not worth it.

Chlorine was used as a weapon in World War I. The more concentrated it is the more dangerous it is.

Strong chlorine could damage your eyes, skin, hair and if ingested(swallowed) could do damage to your internal organs.

Bleach is strong chlorine and you wouldn't drink that :-)

In amsll amounts it is less harmful but if you think it;s too strong then you should avoid it.

No, high pool levels in chlorine cause various damage. Level it out, instructions are usually included in your chemical kit on how to do it. If I remember correctly you have to give it several hours to overnight to stabalize.
