There is a Green Iguana Society,www.greenig.org,who have lots of info on everything iguana. But be prepared to spend $(But it is SO worth the expense),even if you build it yourself a proper iguana habitat is large since a full-grown green iguana is 4 to over 6 feet long(tail length included) and it must contain controlled heat and UV b light or the iguana will become ill and eventually die. Also, read "Green Iguana:The Ultimate Owners Manual"by Hatfield for info on housing and to make sure you are giving the right food because what people thought years ago was right, like giving them lettuce and monkey chow, has been found to be harmful/eventually fatal.Handle and carefully observe your iguana for at least a short time but ideally an hour or more per day and you will find that he or she is an extremely intelligent being with a personality, likes, dislikes, moods and emotions, including loneliness, boredom, irritation, fear and affection. And I'm not a starry-eyed,brain fried hippie or animal rights nut, when my ex-wife(wife then)brought her home I thought mine would be dumb as a rock. But she surprised me,daily almost, for years, and now I love her more than most people love their children.

From eco-friendly Iguana Society: "If any aquarium is used (yet nonetheless no longer mentioned), a minimum of a 50 gallon aquarium is truthfully minimum, and could in hassle-free terms be used for a hatchling. An iguana will outgrow a 50 gallon aquarium in a count number of months!" verify the 2d link under for the situation-unfastened standards of a solid habitat. And maximum suitable of success -- verify that web site additionally for the size distinction between a hatchling and grownup iguana -- OMG!!

Check out the reptarium cages as well as the Iguana Home.
Really decent prices. I went to like 5 petsmarts and petco's and they just did not have anything suitable for a species that likes to climb and needs upward space not just horizontal space.

A ferret cage about 3 feet long and about 2 ft tall and about 2 ft deep is a good home. Of course you will want to make sure there is a basking limb and a good heat lamp on it.
