Some countries have governments that are crazy enough to use nuclear weapons. Like Iran. And North Korea.

Possibly because the countries that we dont want to have nuclear capabilities are the same ones that have terrorist organizations living in and being supported by these same countries whos sole purpose is to preform jihad on the USA. Another reason would be countries like Iran whos president has not took the traditional Arab route of blaming it on terrorist groups because real Islam is a so called "religion of peace" insted he has come right out and said that Israel should be wiped of the map and that he will not stop until Islam ruled the world, and you dint see a problem with them having nuclear weapons? are you crazy? That's like having a child molester watch you kids. As for are allies having these weapons, Obviously they are not trying to blow up everyone who is not worshiping Allah.

America doesn't mind other countries having nuclear power. We and the rest of the world don't want countries to have it if they are going to be a threat with the technology. Countries like Iran don't care about using nuclear power to help their citizens. They want it for the power they think they can get.People with that attitude do not need something so potentially devestating in ntheir arsenal.

I'd say it boils down to two main factors. Need and risk. The main countries we're trying to stop from gaining nuclear power sit atop huge oil fields, thus having little to no use for a nuclear power system. Another consideration is the risk to allow extremist regimes (namely Iran-Hezbollah and they're ilk) access to such potentially devistating power. With the middle east embroiled yet again in a classic struggle for power and control the world cannot and should not allow such countries access to those means.
Edit: Nuclear power is a lead in to nuclear weaponry. The difference is in enrichment... by nipping the problem at the bud and not allowing low level uranium (power grade) we prevent them from access to high level (weapons grade) uranium.

It's not nuclear energy that is the problem, it's the nuclear weapons that cause the problem.

It is not just America. Everyone signed a treaty and Iran and North
Korea are breaking the treaty. These are just a few of the sites that
might interest you. Everyone always blames the US before
doing their homework.

Your facts are incorrect. The concern is that rouge countries will use it for nuclear weapons rather than for electricity.
