The truth is you can find the minimum wages by state at this site
http://www.dol.gov/esa/minwage/america.htm

Ours is $6.75.

I think it depends on what you eat.

I think it's $5.15 an hour... minus deductions NOPE probably wouldn't pay for my lunch... depends on how cheap I can get lunch though... it WOULD pay for my lunch if I ate where I USED to work (half price for all employees). But I've only worked actual minimum wage once when I was in high school, so it was ALL extra cash then. Now I'm unemployed (so no my hourly wage does NOT pay for lunch, well... sort of, I don't pay for my lunch, so I guess my lunch is free, and I "work" for free... so maybe). Anyway, I think I get your point, minimum wage sucks, and we should raise it! Even if you live modestly on minimum wage you can barely make ends meet, especially since employers don't like you to work over 39 hours a week (at 40 their paying you overtime). So a lot of minimum wage workers end up with more than one job, and working themselves to death. It's sad.

minimum wage is the same in every State it is a federal law, and if you mean eat out lunch no, but you can have a great home made lunch for that.

Right now it's 5.15, set to increase to 7, but hardly any jobs actually pay that little.

Even McDonalds pays a lot more than $7

Georgia: $5.15 an hour. No it wouldn't pay for my lunch unless I got ramennoodles with a drink.

State minimum is 8.16 and one hour minus deductions comes to 5.26. so if I do to mcd's then yes it would, but it really wouldn't pay the bills.

minimum wage is not there for you to live on but to start. this is a common misconception that the media and corrupt politicians love to use.
