What do you mean by "world peace" ? The fact of independent nations living in a permanent state of non violence, or one nation and its allies annihilating every force of combat in other countries, controlling them and assure that the "colonised" nations never find any abilities in a military manner to 'free' themselves ? Remember the 19th century; there was a lot of "peace" between the coloniser and the colonisee... The latter is more possible and probably what's going on now.

I wish it were ..
The world is such a mess because of conflict of interests, greed, and thurst for power.. when that is gone, we can have peace.
Human nature doesn't allow people with so many differences to co-exist and get along without conflict. even members of the same family fight all the time, sometimes on the stupidest things like the last piece of pie, so how can different nations and religions and political groups not have conflict?!!
Actually, Its not our differences that cause coflict, different religions and races can live together without a problem, the conflict only happens when each race or religious group thinks they're better that the rest!

The only problem to world peace is mean's dream for power...and such a negative aspect of every man can never disapear....and the further we advance in time, the more is spreads....so World Peace is just a fantasy like Peter Pan.

In more practical terms we have to come up with something better than the UN and we each have to go on a journey to remember what it means to be a member of the human race, but think about it, millions of people, probably more believe in Peace than don't so logically it is possible if we figure out how to harness that spirit and knock whatever it is in the way, out of the way....its a mental thing, it is possible yes.

Global brand products and TV channels are homogenising culture. Capitalism is stabilising economies and improving living conditions.
The more we have in common, the less we have to fight about.
Religion seems to be the main offender though - unless people stop being hypocritical retards we probably won't get anywhere.

all the time greed and religion take centre stage then no its very sad but we can only hope a nd pray for that day.i bet if there was an alien invasion then the world would have to reunite to fight a thraet like that.
